No more spam journals for me...

This is getting a bit ridiculous..
The weather changed and now tat it's quite obviously autumn, I have another cold. I always get sick whenever the weather changes without fail. Ugh.

A couple months ago we started our own little garden on our deck. We've been growing some herbs, lettuce, radishes, strawberries, some flowers, and a potato plant that we found growing in our cupboard. Anyways, a few days ago, Simon noticed that the potato plant had a little bit of an aphid infestation. We also figured that since the plants were in the same area, they'd all have some aphids. So, obviously the only solution was to go to the garden center and buy a bag of 250 ladybugs.

This is just silly..
I've had a cough for like, 2 weeks. Before that, I was really tired for about a week and then I had about 2 days of the worst head cold ever.
I've got 2 different kinds of cough syrup; One to clear up chest congestion and to break up mucus and phlegm (lovely), and another with codeine so I can sleep. Now I've lost my sense of taste and smell, which makes me think there's a problem with my nose. But my nose isn't stuffed up at all, and the only things I can taste are dill pickle chips and the cherry cough syrup. Which is really, really gross.
Because of being sick, I haven't been to the gym in ages and I feel really out of shape but I don't want to kill everyone at the Y.

Aside from that, Simon and I tried to go out for a romantic type evening. We went out to dinner and tried to go to a movie, but our waitress was taking forever so we missed the movie. Instead we decided to just go home and rent a movie. The romance died when we got to the video store, though, because we rented Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and bought an Arnold Schwartzenegger movie (Raw Deal. Tagline: "His trigger has all the answers.")

Is anyone doing anything exciting for Canada Day? We have to work at 8:30 on Wednesday so we probly won't be having too much fun.

I read somewhere that putting cooled tea bags on your eyes helps to soothe dry/sore/tired eyes. It seems to have worked okay. My eyes do feel a lot better. I had to enter all the billing information to the Realtors into the computer today and yesterday. Meant starting at a computer screen for 9 hours each day.

If anyone else knows any home-made remedies or the like, I'd be interested to hear them.

I'm sorry to say that due to working for a real estate paper, all the knowledge in my head has drained away to make room for Realtor names, phone numbers and companies.

I'm in an internet cafe! Really for the experience of the thing, I guess...

Teh boredom...

I just finished folding laundry, which was so super fun that I had to stop. I don't think I've posted on my lj in like, forever. Mostly I've been obsessing with my Facebook. Does anyone still read Livejournal? I think I stopped when the communities I belong to started posting more than my friends. True, they're very active communities... But still.

So what's up people?
I got nothing, really. Nothing new.
I'm okay, but not great. I still don't really know what to do about Simon; it's very troublesome and confusing. I don't think I was made for relationships.

I've been quite anti-social lately. Not quite sure why. I was going to go back to work at Sears because I thought that I desperately needed to. But then when I actually sat down, thought about it, and remembered how much I hated working there... I changed my mind. Instead I think I'm going to learn to sew (as in drafting and/or using patterns) and actually get better at knitting. I think I've made almost everyone I know a scarf, and that's the kind of thing that people really only need one of.

Ah well...
Going to put laundry away.

So... I haven't posted since last month. Hrm.
I really do like livejournal... I think that I've just been very busy with school, work, and trying to have a social life that I haven't had time to update very much. Plus I had about half the contents of my dresser and closet sitting on my computer chair.

I'm making an attempt to clean right now. Which really means that I make an even bigger mess and then decide to take a 2 hour long break.

What's up, LJ?

Work has gotten a bit strange... The cafe is once again dividing into factions, and pretty much everyone wants to quit. We think Katrina is quitting, Janelle and Jennifer are both unhappy... And since my school is finished, if I have to work at Sears for the entire summer, I will go crazy. It's too bad that I like most of the people I work with. And if Kathy wren't my boss I would have walked out a long time ago. But it's hard to quit a job where there are people I like, I get paid more than minimum wage, and my hours are really flexable.

I got my lip pierced a second time a couple weeks ago. I don't know why, but it's giving me a bit of trouble. The first one is fine... It's been the most hassle free piercing that I have. It didn't really hurt, except for when I caught it on my clothes. Or the time when I walked through spider webs and wiped my face on my sleeve and caught the ring... But that's it. This one is sore a lot, and the swelling took its sweet time going down. Boo.

I also got a wicked mutated Camosun disease. Luckily as soon as I finished school. Sucks though, because I sound awful and can't breathe right. My head is full of snot! ARGH!

Alright... Going to go clean.

Unfortunatly, it means that my hands and Simon's bathtub are also a nice shade of pink. But it beats the blonde hands down. I'll have to stop telling people that I have a heart of glass.

I took a break to read all the new Angel Sanctuary managa I bought today.

I'm crazy jealous of people who know where they're going in life, or those who know what they want to do.

My face really hurts...
I had my wisdom teeth out today.. All four of them.. =(
It was a bit funny because they set up an IV and were like "You might feel a bit weird and then you'll wake up in another room." I rememer thinking "Gosh the ceiling looks weird." And then I was being fed orange juice. I have to bite down on bits of gauze... And it's annoying and hurts a bit. I also have 3 different kinds of painkillers.

And a swollen face...
Boo...

It's a good thing I like ice cream, yogurt, jell-o and applesauce. Can't eat anything else for a month

It's my birthday today!

Also the animals in my Animal Crack town bought me a birthday cake.

It's looking to be a good day so far.

My dad bought me a cellphone as an early birthday present.
I've spent all day trying to program it without breaking it.
I now have the most rave-tastic ring tone.

Oh. And because I'm cool, I ordered Live Action Sailor Moon on DVD.

My mom bought me a Pirate of the Caribbean calender today. The one Yvonne bought me started falling down as soon as I tried to put it up. I think I'll give it to Kim, since it's full of kittens being really cute.

Work was really slow today... I decided to clean some of the tea cups because they were all tea and coffee stained. Except to do that, I had to almost climb into the cupbord where the dishwashing detergents are. While I was down there, I heard this little ripping sound, and realized that I'd put a hole into the bum of my black work pants. So... I went home a little bit early today, since I didn't want to show everyone my bum. I told Kathy, and she started laughing at me and saying "It's times like that when I hope that I'm wearing dark panties." But I wore my long coat home, so it was okay. But now I have to buy new work pants. -_-

Speaking of Kim, I made her really jealous yesterday. I was shopping downtown before I bought my textbooks, and found a copy of the soundtrack for Nightmare Before Christmas at Lyle's PLace. It's this weird special edition that has a second bonus CD. The second CD has like, bands doing versions of the songs. Fiona Apple sings "Sally's Song", Marilyn Manson does a version of "This Is Halloween", She Wants Revenge sings my least favourite song (Kidnap the Sandy Claws), and Fallout Boy does a version of "What's This?"... That one made Kim not so jealous and a bit angry. Apparently she hates Fallout Boy.

My textbooks cost me $300 this semester. They're all so little! Plus there was a bunch of paper from the print shop for $35... Ugh. But the Asia-Pacific Studies text seems interesting. I had sushi for lunch yesterday and started reading it. There's a section about Nobunaga and Hideyoshi... Which is exciting! Sort of....

Hm...
So I passed all my classes with 2 B+'s and an A.
Woo. Now I get to go and do it all over again next semester.

I had a nice Christmas with my family. Went to Pat's family's for dinner, and it was all really good. They let me have dark meat and champagne. There was also this salad stuff that was carrots, pineapple, and whipped cream. Weird, but good.

I dunno what else, really.
I'm feeling really off today... And just not myself.
I think I'll take Reagan's advice and curl up in bed for a while.

Why is my LJ clock wrong? It keeps trying to date entries for the future. Hrm.

Anyways, my computer is working again. It decided that I don't have a keyboard and wouldn't boot. Then it apparently decided that I needed new drivers for my mouse. It's the pickiest machine ever. I think my old machine is being a bad influence, actually. It was a crappy computer, but makes an all right side table.

Aside from that, everything has been fine. All the snow is gone and it's gone back to being typical Victoria weather (Rain). I finished school last Friday... My first, last, and only exam is the 16th. It's my Ebglish exam. I'm a bit worried about it... But my teacher gave us a list of all the readings that might be on the exam, as well as the essay question. It shouldn't be too bad.

I wrote my papers and everything!
My English paper was actually shorter than the proposal for the paper.
And the printer wasn't working when I tried to print off my psychology paper, so it has this cloudy, blothy border on all the pages.

Geography is over, too!
Apparently I did really well. I managed to get an A.
I'm just nervous about my other grades, because I don't think they'll be as good.

I just finished touching up my hair and cleaning the bathroom. This time I managed not to get pink all over everything except my forehead and one spot on the wall, which I cleaned off.

I'm almost done my Christmas shopping, too. On my way home today I decided to try to finish. It got to be a lot, today... I was walking through the mall carrying like, 6 giant bags of stuff. There were bags within bags. I just have 2 secret santa presents to buy, and another present for a friend of mine.

Smells like snow outside! Which is not surprising, since there is a few inches of snow on the ground. The only good things that I can think of, is that it made Sears close 2 hours early. We had to close the cafe is like, half an hour, but we did all right. There were 3 of us working. I was supposed to go and bake gingerbread cookies with Jennifer and Simon, but we decided that the roads would be too dangerous for her to drive later, and one of the girls from lingerie was telling me that some busses were shutting down. It was really dead in the store today. We made about $200 just from staff.

What else? I went to see the ballet with Simon yesterday. It was pretty fun... The dancing was really pretty, and the music was really good. Though part way through I started watching the violinists and the woman playing the harp. The little girl was really cute, though. And the Nutcracker had teeth so white we could see them all the way from the balcony.

The night before that, my dad took me to see Disney's Beauty & the Beast at the McPhearson, which was also really good. I forgot how much I like musical theatre. The guy who played Lumiere, and the guy who played Gaston were both really funny. There were a lot of songs that weren't in the movie, and they were all good... I'm just lame and don't really enjoy slower songs. I found out that there will be a production of The Music Man, and realized that if I see it, I'll have to listen to "Goodnight My Someone".

I'm feeling a bit more cultured.
Or something.

I also just remembered that I have a presentation on Tuesday, so I should probably work on that.
